Hand Engraving

Materials Used: Copper metal (tinned). Production Process: In the engraving technique, the base structure of the product is first prepared according to its geometric shape. After that, a layer of bitumen is applied, and the engraving process begins. The artisan's skill and creativity manifest as detailed patterns are engraved into the copper metal. Once the engraving is complete, the raised designs are coated with tin to enhance durability. Finally, to accentuate the fine lines and highlight the depth of the engravings, a mixture of soot and paraffin is applied to the surface. This coating fills the grooves, and after cleaning away any excess, the piece gains a shadow effect, which is also referred to as ""Siah Qalam."" Explanation: Qalamzani is a traditional art form that emphasizes the intricate craftsmanship involved in metalworking. The combination of engraving and the blackening process enhances the visual appeal of the artwork, making each piece a unique representation of the artist's skill.
